RESEARCH IN ASIAN ARCHITECTURE

In this project, we are required to conduct a research on a traditional street in Malaysia, in a group consisting of 7 members. We were to research and discuss about significant issues in relation to the development of the chosen street and generate research questions based on the issues found.

SELF REFLECTION
The project was quite difficult in my opinion, with all the researching and discussions with my groupmates and tutor. The research title alone, took up 3 weeks of research and development for us to finalize and the rest just sits into place once the research title is defined. This was a very interesting task, it was my first time researching about such deep insights of tradition, modernity and globalization in the Asian architectural contexts. As I researched for topics related to the research title, I stumbled across many that isn't and this allowed me to learn much more than reading off of a book, only obtaining the information I needed to complete this project. Our success at completing this project depended a lot on Mr. Nicholas' patience at correcting our mistakes and guiding us towards the right direction. He included many real life examples as well as providing us with references for our research.
